SUNRISE HOSPITAL falsely banned wearethenurses and its advocates from this and all their facilities. Their mismanagement of sickle cell patients has gone long enough. Dr. Lamant Ellis and CMO Jeff Murawsky got in contact with us and then the next time I arrived they stated we were trespassing although the patient deemed wearethenurses and Katrina RN as his advocate. The patient recorded the security at his room while he was telling them that he needed his advocate since his care was poor. Per the patients’ and the advocates 1st hand account at the patients bedside they were mistreating this sickle cell patient because the plan of care did not include a hematologist and poor pain control for a patient in crisis. Each and every case of a sickle cell patient being hospitalized (for each patient we advocated for since 2015) in the city results in the doctor getting offended then the staff feels threatened by us, then they mistreat the patient on purpose. This is happening right now as we speak at Sunrise Hospital. I have 2 patients currently there and now that they kicked me out with no advocate at their side. And when I asked why I was being asked to leave, they said they did not know why and are not being told why, but that I still have to leave the premises. They felt threatened by us helping the patient and that was wrong 100%. I tried speaking to one of my patients just now and he is crying in pain for poor time management. SHAME on you Sunrise Hospital!!! All you have to do is get the consult for MD Keshava-Prasad, H. Hematologist/oncology. He is the only adult sickle cell specialist in the city that has privileges there. Help the patient, and dont make them into an example of your power. You are literally killing the patients slowly!
