Update from the hospitals August 2021

We are still short staffed. We need the community to send us goodies because we are exhausted. We have a flood of Covid 19 patients. Good news, we get to educate the unvaccinated 1 to 1 and help them understand the benefits of getting the vaccine after 60 to 90 days post getting sick (per our fantastic Infectious Disease Doctors), especially if they have long hauler symptoms. Research shows theses symptoms clear up after the 1st jab. Current treatment looks like this and varies for each person depending on their labs, history, ext.: 1 dose of Plasma from a covid donor, possibly all 5 doses of IV Remdesivir or 1 dose of BAM, steroids, cough meds, oxygen, antibiotics, and of course any other meds your awesome doctor needs to give you, like something to help you sleep. As always we are always here for our community and wish that you reach out if you or your loved ones are struggling in the healthcare community. This site was created for you to be safe and informed, so please reach out with any questions or concerns about your care. The following mission statement is from an organization near and dear to us, our favorite nuns. They are grounded in Jesus and we are grounded in Advocacy of healthcare (same thing kinda) They helped mold my practice to really hone in on their similar values. Please enjoy:

MISSION
We Dominican
Preachers of Adrian
impelled by the Gospel
and outraged by the injustices
of our day
seek truth;
make peace;
reverence life.

Stirred by the Wisdom of God
and rooted in our
contemplative prayer,
communal study and life in community,
we challenge heresies of local and global
domination, exploitation, and greed
that privilege some, dehumanize others,
and ravage Earth.

We confront our racist attitudes
and root out racist practices
in our lives and systems.

We confront systems
where women are denied freedom,
equality, and full personhood.

We walk in solidarity with people
who are poor
and challenge structures
that impoverish them.

We practice non-violent peacemaking.

We promote lay leadership
and shared decision-making
for a renewed Church.

We live right relationships with
Earth community.

We claim the communal authority
and responsibility of our
Dominican heritage.

We commit ourselves
to live this Vision.
